Things to do

There is also a lot to do and see in Dublin and our Front Office and Guest Relations team are at your disposal to help you arrange your day!

The Old Jameson Distillery

Located in the heart of Dublin, The Old Jameson Distillery sums up the essence of Ireland. This museum illustrates the history of Irish whiskey, known in Irish as uisce beatha (the water of life) and the expert guides will answer any questions whiskey lovers might have. Visitors can partake in a whiskey tasting in the bar after their tour and sample different Irish, Scotch and American whiskeys.

Irish Museum of Modern Art

The Irish Museum of Modern Art is Ireland's leading national institution for the collection and presentation of modern and contemporary art. The Museum presents a wide variety of art in a dynamic programme of exhibitions, which regularly includes bodies of work from its own Collection and its award-winning Education and Community Department. It also creates more widespread access to art and artists through its Studio and National programmes.

Temple Bar

Temple Bar is an area on the south bank of the River Liffey in central Dublin, Ireland. Unlike the areas surrounding it, Temple Bar has preserved its medieval street pattern, with many narrow cobbled streets. It is promoted as "Dublin's cultural quarter" and has a lively nightlife that is popular with tourists. Temple Bar is in the postcode Dublin 2 (D2), and has an estimated population of 3,000.

Kilmainham Jail

It was built in 1796. Prisoners from the United Irish Rebellion of 1796, the Emmet Rebellion of 1803, the Great Famine of 1845 to 1851, the Young Ireland Rebellion of 1848, the Fenian Rebellion of 1867, the Land War of the 1880s, the Easter Rising of 1916, the War of Independence and the Irish Civil War were held and often executed here.

Irish National War Memorial Park

Designed by Edward Lutyens, the gardens and park were laid out in the 1930s to commemorate the 49,500 Irish soldiers who died in the First World War. The Irish soldiers of the Second World War are also now remembered here annually each November on the anniversary of the Armistice of 1918. The proposed block will be visible from the Park.

St Audoen's Church

Sited in the heart of the walled medieval city, this is one of the oldest existing churches as well as the only remaining medieval parish church in Dublin. It is dedicated to St. Ouen, the 7th century bishop of Rouen and patron saint of Normandy.

National Botanic Gardens

These colourful gardens cover a total area of 19.5 hectares, part of which is the natural flood plain of the River Tolka. The gardens contain a large plant collection which includes approximately 20,000 species and cultivars. There are four ranges of glasshouses including the recently restored Curvilinear Range. Notable features include herbaceous displays, rose garden, rockery, vegetable garden, arboretum, extensive shrub borders and wall plants. Gardens are accessible for people with disabilities but there are some steep gradients.

“Wonderful side view of the River Liffey”
We had a room with a balcony that had a wonderful side view of the River Liffey. The room had ceiling to floor windows with french doors which was awesome! Room looked newly renovated. Great furniture and linens.

“Good location”
Good location close to everything but away from the hustle and noise. Within walking distance to the Temple Bar area and shopping on Grafton Street. Also close to the Paddywagon tour office which offers great tours. We would definitely stay there again!

“Leisure and spa facilities”
Wanting a short last minute getaway and having chosen this hotel for its leisure and spa facilities, I was not to be disappointed. I made good use of the pool, gym, sauna and Jacuzzi whilst here and availed of the welcome special offer for a massage afterwards.

“Bright, spacious and comfortable”
My bedroom was clean, bright, spacious and comfortable with everything I needed. Nespresso maker AND kettle was a bonus, as was the fridge.

“Location was good”
Location was good overlooking the Docklands yet close enough to the city centre (10 mins walk) and bus station without the usual hustle and bustle. There are bus stops and the Luas nearby if you don't feel like walking. There are shops and cafes close to the hotel if you need to stock up or fancy eating out without travelling too far.

“The best value hotel that we stayed in”
The accommodation was absolutely fabulous and a real treat for myself and the girls.
The best value hotel that we stayed in the whole experience was great. Meet and greet at reception and restaurant was great. Only had breakfast which was lovely. Guest relations recommended a great restaurant for me. Will return.

“Friendly and efficient”
The greeting was friendly and efficient. I even asked for directions to a building I was due to attend nearby the following morning and the member of staff went on line whilst I was checking in to find where the building was and to give me directions.

“Everything was spotless”
The room was a good size with 2 easy chairs and coffee table and a balcony, again with 2 chairs. Everything was spotless.

“A good wifi connection”
I had a good wifi connection and I was on the top floor. I gather all rooms now have wifi and this is free.

“Very clean room”
Probably one of the most spacious rooms we have ever stayed in. 2 bedrooms, made a change not to share with the kids and a huge bathroom. Very clean room, towels changed, everywhere cleaned daily even the tissues were replenished daily, very welcome with mine and my partners hay fever kicking in. There were plenty of tv stations and lots of kids channels to keep my 11 and 9 yr old occupied in the short time we spent in our rooms.

“Staff lovely, friendly and very helpful”
We found the staff lovely, friendly and very helpful and happy to offer advice about the hotel and Dublin itself. The hotel also runs a bus service to and from the airport or they will call a taxi for u at a pre arranged fare, a lot cheaper than calling a cab yourself. They also held our bags for us on our last day as we had a late night flight home.
